We started with flooding the egg shape cookies with 'sea green' icing colour, you can use light blue or turquoise if you don't have this colour, they all will work with the brown tones.
Then use a brown edible marker to draw the tree and where the nest will sit. We want to use 3 eggs inside so unfortunately the nest ended up a bit bigger than the original plan.
We made the nest as a royal icing transfer, i will post the picture of just the nest below the decorating progress photo just to show you .

Make sure you piped the icing to create a wider opening on top to make it easier for the eggs to nestle into it. If your opening is too narrow you will only fit either 1 or 2 eggs only. See photo below.
