Second day of the New Year and we had the privilege to create birthday cookies for Emilie who is turning one today :) She is the cutest little thing and our friends Katty & Aiden has done such a wonderful job as her parents. She is blessed with so many pressies and lovely people who came to celebrate her birthday today, we were happy to be able to make her 1st birthday cookies as party favours and we also made a little cookie gift basket for her. For the party favours we made 3 different balloon designs with 2 base colours - pink and white, to match her party invitation. We took a photo tutorial for the party favours, so lets start from the beginning....because we dont have a big number 1 cookie cutter we had to get creative with a few cutters that we own. We use a big rectangle cutter and use small rectangle & heart cutter to make the shape of number 1. So here is my plan, a doodling i made with spare scrap paper lying around the house, we just trimmed the side and cut out bits of the cookie dough to make the right shape :) When the cookies were bakes, we flood them all with the base icing colour....here is one of the cookie after being flooded with pink icing...i just love love love puffy smooth icing :) We made a total of 4 dozen cookie favours, 2 dozen of pink and 2 dozen of white. Here are the 3 designs, pink ones & the white ones :) To make the first design, we piped 3 different colours to make the shape of balloons inside the number 1 with a letter on each balloon spelling "ONE". Then we piped white tails for the balloon and write "ONE" inside the balloons. The second design was one balloon with number 1 inside it and a tag underneath with Emilie's name :) And the third design was a string of different colour buntings inside the number one that spells Emilie's name, see the photos below for a better visual. Here are the platter of the number 1's for the party favours Here they are, all packaged up ready to go for the birthday party :) We want Katty and Aiden to taste the cookies too so we also made a little gift basket for them to take home and enjoyed after the big party :) Thank you Katty & Aiden for including us in the big milestone birthday for Emilie :) Today was so much fun and i hope you get to enjoy the rest of the day with your little precious girl ;-)
