Happy Birthday Logan - Plants vs Zombies cookies

My boy turns 6 today, and when he requested special birthday cookies how can we refuse? :)

He told me he wants 'Plants vs Zombies' cookies, its a game that he plays in the iPad with his dad each day, apparently there is a 'daily event' that you have to do in the game that earns you points *insert roll eyes emoticon here* boys and their toys...some things never change I guess :P

So Logan and I sat down together and I asked him to choose a few of his favorite characters from the game....here are the characters that he has chosen :)

And as you can see here, a very happy boy indeed with his birthday cookies....worth all the trouble ;-)

Now i really tried documenting how to make these cookies but I had to race thru them as i'm working on them alongside another set of cookies for a dear friend of mine for another birthday this week. Apparently March is a very busy month for birthdays!

Anyway, I managed to take the before photos of the characters...here they are with base white icing and hand drawn with edible markers.

I took a photo of some of the characters while i was putting green icing on their green leaves & stalk. But after that i was too busy trying to finish of the cookies in time that i totally forgot to take any further progress photos. Here they are in mid-progress....

And here are the characters after they are all done and completed :)

And here are the whole set of cookies in the gift box ready to be given to the birthday boy :)
