Happy New Year 2016!

We want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and welcome to 2016! We believe this New Year will bring greatness, lots of blessings and amazing things will happen in your life in 2016. We pray that God will turn your passion into a goldmine, and may everything you touch turn to gold :)

This is why we decided to start the New Year with a touch of gold. This is probably the most bling-iest (i dunno if that is even a word lol) cookies we ever made! Striking Black and white with a touch of gold :)

This time we get to experiment with lots of cool stuff. For my birthday my dear wonderful hubby gave me a wonderful new tool for my birthday present....a brand new pocket projector! Woohoo!

The projector really helps me do writing on cookies, which is my main weakness. This awesome 'Pico' - that's what we call it, opens up a world of new possibilities and no more tracing with baking paper anymore...a lot less time consuming *oh yeah*!

This is the setup we have at the moment... the Pico projector is connected to my iPad with HDMI cable :)

Check out how clear that projected image on to the cookie, makes it soo much easier to do tricky writing font and all sort of different designs. That is why i said this opens up a whole new world of possibilities, all thanks to my dear hubby who has been looking all over the country (i kid you not!) to source this pocket projector just for me, aren't I blessed ;-)

Anyway, we also use rolkem gold to paint the gold dust into the cookies. We didn't take any tutorial photos as this set of cookies were made just to celebrate the New Year and to share our newest cookie toy with you all :)

So instead of posting ' how to' photos, we are going to post nice close-up photos of the gold cookies :)

One thing to note, we need to get a better paint brush as the ones we have are not small enough to do small detail work, we keep messing up and making mistakes all over the place, but really and truly...it was SOOO much fun to paint everything gold! lol ;P
