Minions Cookies

These set of cute minions cookies were specially made for my lovely niece, Nina :) My mum and dad specifically told me that she loves minions and she has a collection of them at home. So we set out to make a minion set, we didn't have a special minion cutters so we have to just use basic shapes cutter that we already have.

There were plenty of inspiration online, but the one that we love the most was from Julia's minion set - she is also known as Miss Biscuit in Melbourne. Its a bit of a mixture of inspiration as one of the cookies were also inspired by Karen's cookies, she is now known as Piped Dreams in South Australia and the round face minions were inspired by Grunderfully Delicious :)

These set were really fun to make, these were some of the cookies while they were still work in progress

I took a select few pictures of the minion cookies as they were progressing, but because there were quite a few different ones here its a bit hard to get them all. So we have are the stages of creating Kevin and Stuart :)

Lets start with Kevin. We used an edible pen to mark the areas where we want to put the yellow head and arms, then also marked the areas for his overalls. Flood with yellow and blue icing & let it dry.

Next step is to pipe his grey glasses rim and add his hair, hands, feet & mouth with black icing. Also add a little pocket in the middle of his overall.

Lastly piped the white eye inside the grey icing (see photo) and the straps of his overall. When the white icing for the eye is dry, add dark brown icing and then black icing in the middle of his eye.

The next minion is Stuart. The stages of how to create Stuart are in the pictures below :)

These last couple of steps are just putting in the details and adding my niece's name on top :)

We also decided to make Nina's name is the minion colours, we thought it will compliment the set nicely

Here they are, all packed up and ready to be hand delivered to my lovely niece when my parents get home from their holiday :)
