These Batman cookies are probably ther fastest turn around cookies we've made so far. We had a bit of a mis-communication via email so it was a bit rushed but we are happy that we managed to finish them on time for the birthday party :) We also used our new toy for this cookies, we just recently got a new dehyrator and it cuts down the drying time so we dont have to wait around for so long. We just love it and wished we had gotten it sooner! :P These cookies are reasonably simple to make BUT i didn't realised how much pressure it was to pipe perfect oval/circle into a cookie until this order! The black border around the cookies were pretty hard to get perfectly oval...i realised half way thru piping those black icing that I was holding my breath the whole time my piping bag was going around the cookies LOL :P So here are the step by step progress: STEP 1: We used black outline consistency icing for thhe border. Here they are after the black border was piped....you can see the mistakes i made but luckily it will be covered by the yellow icing so you wont see it in the finished result :) STEP 2: Flood the cookie with yellow icing the trickiest party is getting the right yellow colour....no matter how many times we re-mixed the icing (we did it 3 different times) to get the right shade the cing sets a bit darker than when we originally mix it. Here they are in process of drying... STEP 3: Now its time to put the Batman logo on top. We marked the are for the black icing to go to with edible marker to make it easier to pipe and flood at the same time. Here they are ready to be iced... STEP 4: Use 15-20 second icing for the black bat on these cookies, its easier this way so we can just use one icing with one consistency to pipe the Batman logos onto the cookies. Last thing to do is packaging, individually wrapped in cellophane with personalised tags so that it will be easy to put them into party loot bags :) So there you go, just 4 simple steps but requires a lot of concentration from us to get it looking right.
We hope the cookies will be a wonderful treat for the birthday party this weekend :)
